  • Centers for Disease Control : great for disease surveilance, and international travel information
  • Safekids.org: NPO dedicated to preventing non-accidental injury to all children
  • Text4baby :  Free mobile information service designed to promote maternal and child health.
  • SixtySecondParent.com: pithy articles on pertinent topics, such as development, behavior, nutrition and sleep

Developmental and Mental Health Resources

  • Developmental Milestone Guide from the CDC, with checklists for ages 2 months through 5 years
  • CHADD-- Children and Adults with Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder
  • ADHD Internet Resources from the AAP Resource Toolkit
  • Autism Society of North Carolina: a great resource for families of kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders: One Family's Story; personal article with good family-friendly links about autism screening and developmental concerns
  • Exceptional Children's Acceptance Center-- Non-profit agency that provides free information to families on rights of children with special needs and learning differences. They are familiar with the processes and rights under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and section 504 of the ADA. 
  • LGBT Center of Raleigh-- list of LGBT-affirming therapists in our local counties
  • Local Mental Heath Resources-- list of Counselors and Mental Health Resources, compiled by OPR
  • Silber Psychology Services, PA - http://Silberpsych.com:  Oberlin Road Pediatrics has a  co-management agreement with Silber Psychological Services.  The co-management agreement creates a shared involvement of patient information to meet and manage the expectations of both practices in order to facilitate the best patient care.
