Dear Families,
We are writing to share that a confirmed case of measles has been reported in Wake County.
To help protect your child and our community, we recommend the following:
-
Children 12 months and older who have not yet received a complete measles vaccine series (two doses of MMR) should schedule vaccination.
-
Infants 6–11 months are also recommended to receive an early MMR dose. This dose provides important protection during increased community risk. Please note that this early dose does not replace the routinely scheduled MMR doses later in childhood.
Measles is highly contagious, and infants and unvaccinated children are at higher risk for severe illness. Vaccination is the best way to prevent infection.
You may schedule a vaccine visit by calling our office or submitting a request through the patient portal. If you are unsure whether your child is up to date, please reach out via phone or the portal and we are happy to review their vaccine record with you.
Please note that most school-aged children are fully vaccinated, as a second MMR dose is required for kindergarten entry.
We know news like this can feel concerning and we want to reassure you that the MMR vaccine is a very safe and highly effective way to protect your child. Choosing vaccination is one of the best ways to protect your family and our Raleigh neighbors from illness!
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call.

We have heard your requests and we are excited to welcome back walk in appointments to our practice on 04/23/2025. It will be exclusively at our Midtown location on Barrett Drive. Appointments are available Monday thru Friday from 8:00 to 8:30am for acute concerns, such as sore throats and ear pain. These appointments are designed for "quick" visits like sore throat, ear pain, rashes, and coughs. Concerns that have been present for more than a few days may require more time so should be scheduled as standard appointments. Once we have filled the walk-in appointments available for that day, we will offer the next available appointment.

You will receive a notification two days before to remind you to login to your portal and pre-check-in for your child's appointment. Pre-check in will be available up to 7 days before your child's appointment.
Use our Patient Portal to confirm or update patient information, billing information, and insurance information up to 7 days before each appointment.

We are seeing increasing numbers of patients with influenza and covid. If you or your child is sick with fever or respiratory symptoms, we ask that the sick person(s) wear a mask during their entire office visit.
If your family has been dealing with COVID, please contact the office to determine how we need to handle their visit.

Starting in January 2024, we will be increasing our Wakemed Nurse Triage fee from $15 dollars to $22 dollars. This change became effective for us in October of this year, but we waited till the New Year to increase that cost to our patients. Wake Med charges us a fee of $22 and we pass that fee along to the patients so we can continue to offer that service. Click the link below to review our After-hour phone nurse triage policy and call our office if you have any questions.
